This past week has brought weather changes, Summer vacations, & all sorts of schedule changes! We went strawberry picking on Wednesday out on the gorgeous Sauvie Island. We brought back 32+ pounds of beautiful Hood strawberries for our efforts. These were made into The Naked Fraises Jam - our unembellished flavor this month. This is a pure strawberry jam with just a hint of lemon to make it bright & sunny (despite the rain today). Delicious on toast, or with some Serrano ham for your picnic spread. If picnics are not in your game plan, this jam is lovely in a crostata, too. More berry picking awaits!
And I can't wait to do some of that berry picking with you. Maybe when you get down here, we can pick the mulberries from my neighbor's tree and jam those?
