Summer Time

Sometimes when the sun is shining gloriously it is not the easiest thing in the world to be inside, in the kitchen,  under steamy conditions...well, maybe it depends on the 'steamy conditions', but the point is, berries are getting ripe, the Northwest gloom has abated for awhile, & the siren song of berry picking is calling loudly to me. Oh sure, it would be easier to pick up a few flats of berries from the local wholesaler, but what would be the fun in that?! Off we go to the fields with a pitstop afterwards for a picnic. Maybe the beach...it IS Summer, after all. My latest favorite way to eat jam would be to mix in a small amount of Naked Fraises with some good quality ricotta, spread this on toast, & if you're feeling really decadent, top it all off with slices of fresh peaches. You'd be hard pressed to find a tastier breakfast.

Current Flavors available include:

Rose City Jam ~ strawberry, rhubarb, & rose petals
Naked Fraises ~ strawberries with a hint of lemon, that's all
Rhubarb Mustard Seed Chutney
Peach Pistachio Chutney
Sir Isaac's Folly ~ spiced apple & Walla Walla onion chutney
