Strawberry Picking Time

On a warm sunny day, of which there have not been many this June, the fields smell like what must be Heaven. The scent of strawberries, Hoods, Honeyoyes, & Shushkens, fill the air and make it intoxicating. The peony & carnation fields abound with flowers & fragrance. The berries are plump, filled with juice, & the most perfect color red. This week many cases of Naked Fraises, Rose City, & Strawberry Pink Peppercorn Jams have kept us busy in the kitchen. Freshly made English muffins with jam & sweet cream butter in addition to Smith's teas are what keep me going in the mornings. Delightful stuff.
