A Certain Someone who is 9 years old requested a Jam Party for her birthday! I would have never thought of this, but Lovely Lily did! I was invited to make a special jam in honor of her birthday so we did! Yesterday 10 festive party goers traipsed out to Sauvie Island in 99 degree heat & picked enough raspberries & blackberries for 12 1/2 pints & 6 full pints of jam PLUS an enormous Raspberry Crisp! Kudos to all you pickers!
Lily's Love Potion #9 Jam
8 cups raspberries
8 cups organic sugar
1/4 cup lemon juice
A few drops of DoTerra essential oil (whatever sounds good to you)
We heated everything to a rolling boil & cooked it till it became glossy, had 'that certain jammy smell', and was ready to preserve. We poured the jam into hot, sterilized jars, wiped the rims, secured the lids & rings, & then used the water bath method for 15 minutes.
Ta~Dah! Perfect party! We had big fun & I am honored to have been included! I am also thrilled that the house had air conditioning!
